Hale’s Kitchen

Located in Oak Harbor, Hale’s Kitchen is all about “Bringing the taste and hospitality of the South to the Pacific Northwest by using the best ingredients!” This popular Whidbey Island restaurant offers “Southern Homecookin’” at its finest, and they even cater events. Bring your appetite—Hale’s Kitchen’s menu is brimming with hearty eats like battered chicken tenders, 4-cheese mac and cheese, fried okra, fried pickles, garlic buttered toast, fries made from locally sourced potatoes, shrimp po boys, fried shrimp, and fish and chips. And be sure to check out the breakfast/brunch menu; chicken and “waffhales,” chicken and beignets, and their signature “Hale of a Breakfast Sandwich” are ready to help you start the day off right.

Hale’s Kitchen is open every day, but hours vary. Click here to visit HalesKitchenOakHarbor.com to check out the menu, and follow Hale’s Kitchen on Facebook and Instagram for updates on the latest food specials and desserts.

Mad Batter Bakehouse

Situated in Downtown Oak Harbor right on Pioneer Way, Mad Batter Bakehouse is a new spot in town where you can indulge in cookies, bars, cakes, ice cream, and signature drinks. Mad Batter Bakehouse’s focus is on their scrumptious cookies that are made daily in house. A few of their unique cookies include delicious delights like their Mudslide cookie (dark chocolate + peanut butter chips), the Wonderland cookie (birthday cake + golden oreo + white chocolate), the Slow Burn cookie (toasted s’mores + graham cracker crumble)… and many more. Drinks include specials like the Mt. Baker (rich cold brew topped with creamy French vanilla ice cream), Lavender Lemonade (a floral take on the classic lemonade), Sunrise Lotus (plant-based energy + vanilla + strawberry + splash of OJ)… and more!

For updates on new offerings, seasonal treats, and more, be sure to follow Mad Batter Bakehouse on Facebook and Instagram.

Cafe De Lisio

This family-owned business is a local mainstay that’s a must-visit spot for coffee beverages, smoothies, milkshakes, flavored Red Bull and teas, specialty drinks, baked goods, and more. Cafe De Lisio literally has 100s of drinks to choose from (yes, really!), making is especially ideal if you have multiple people in your group who all want something different! Of course, you’ll find classic drinks like cold brew, chai tea, hot chocolate, and espresso beverages on the menu, but they take hand-crafted beverages to a whole new level with their specialty drink menu. Try the Attitude Adjuster White Mocha (white chocolate, hazelnut, toasted marshmallow, German chocolate), Butterbeer Latte (caramel, English toffee, cinnamon, hazelnut), French Toast Latte (caramel, hazelnut, splash of cinnamon syrup, steamed/ground cinnamon)… and that’s only the tip of the iceberg!

Check out Cafe De Lisio’s extensive menu here, and be sure to follow Cafe De Lisio on Facebook and Instagram for updates on hours of operation, new menu items, and more.
