This week's Local Lift is a fun mix of much-loved local Whidbey Island businesses, from a sweet treat stop and a popular new restaurant, to a beloved pet grooming salon and a local gift shop. There’s something for everyone (including pets!) in this one!
Local Lift is one of the ways I like to support independent businesses here on Whidbey. I started this feature back at the beginning of the pandemic when local economies were struggling. With each Local Lift, I purchase gift certificates to local businesses and give them away to the community, all while shining a spotlight on what makes each place so great.

Goldie's and The Roost
Goldie's and The Roost is an exciting addition to the Coupeville dining scene. Located at 701 N Main Street, Goldie's serves wood-fired pizza, house-made pasta, and wood-fired vegetables made with locally sourced ingredients—including wheat grown right on Ebey's Landing and milled just days before it hits your plate!! Head upstairs to The Roost, a cozy 21+ cocktail bar with craft cocktails and the full Goldie's menu. It's a great spot for a relaxed dinner out, and the community vibe here is something special.

Posh Puppies
Voted the best groomers on Whidbey Island eight years running, Posh Puppies in Oak Harbor is the go-to spot for dog and cat grooming on the island. They offer full grooming services, baths, nail trims, a self-wash room, mobile grooming, and retail, all in a clean, professional, and welcoming environment. The team genuinely cares about making every pet feel comfortable, and it shows. They also recently opened a second location in Anacortes!

Little Town Cottage
Little Town Cottage has been a beloved Oak Harbor shop since 2018, known for its handmade body products made with all-natural ingredients. Soaps, bath bombs, lotions, bath salts, candles, and more are all available, each one showing off creativity and of course, heavenly scents. The shop has recently moved online, so you can now browse and order their products from home.
