This week’s Local Lift shows off a few Oak Harbor spots you definitely need to check out if you haven’t already! Hale’s Kitchen is the place to go when you’re in the mood for some Southern comfort food, Hello Beautiful Medical Spa is the perfect destination if you need a little refresh, and The BOBA Toons is an easy stop for specialty drinks and Filipino cuisine.

I started this ongoing feature at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, when so many local businesses were navigating uncertain times. If you’re not sure what to order first, you can’t go wrong with what they’re known for: triple-battered chicken tenders, house-made sauces, and classic sides like mac & cheese and fried pickles. The BOBA Toons is a cafe in Oak Harbor known for fresh boba and handcrafted drinks, delicious Filipino BBQ and treats, and there are even games you can play in the cafe! Their drink menu is especially impressive with milk teas and boba, fancy lattes, matcha, smoothies, Red Bull spritzers, and more. BOBA Toons also features Filipino BBQ skewers, lumpia, and more, which makes it a good option when someone in your group wants something savory.
