Virtual Workout Classes from Whidbey Island Yoga Studios & Fitness Centers

With gyms and studios closed due to COVID-19, many people are turning to online fitness classes to stay active. Luckily there are *tons* of awesome virtual fitness classes to help keep us all motivated and in shape, and several of our gyms and studios right here on Whidbey Island have quickly transitioned to offering virtual classes that you can easily access anywhere with wifi! 

Here are a few of our local Whidbey Island studios with virtual classes going on right now (organized by type of class):

YOGA 

Chrysalis Hot Yoga

Located at 670 SE Pioneer Way, Ste 101 Oak Harbor, WA 98277

Previously known as “UnSizeMe,” the award-winning Chrysalis Hot Yoga is a “body positive, community-based Yoga Studio endeavoring to help our yoga students reach their full potential: mind, body and spirit” and they “welcome and embrace all walks of life regardless of size, age, culture and religion.” 

There are several different types of yoga classes offered here, and while they offer hot and warm yoga in their studio, you’ll have to create your own sweat-inducing yoga atmosphere at home!

Half Moon Yoga

Located at Langley Village at 221 2nd Street, #7A in Langley

Half Moon Yoga is partnering with Wendy Dion, a Whidbey Island local who teaches yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda. Wendy Dion is currently offering an online schedule for a “ONLINE Integrating & Sustaining Practice Series” that you can view and sign up for here.


The Studio Whidbey

Located in Langley by appointment only

This boutique studio offers private and semi-private yoga, pilates, and movement lessons, and they have recently started a new weekly schedule of online classes. Pilates, yoga, and breathing work are all in their online mix—check out the schedule and sign up here. 


CROSSFIT

South Island CrossFit

Located at 723 Camano Ave, Langley, WA 98260

South Island CrossFit is offering a few different online classes via zoom, and they’re also occasionally posting different workout routines so you can keep your at-home routine interesting. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram for links to their Zoom video trainings and updates on latest offerings. 


GYMS

North End Fitness Center

This dynamic 24-hour fitness center offers a little of everything: there’s different types of yoga classes (including senior yoga), intense cardio classes, dance fitness programs, cardio mixed martial arts, BollyX (a Bollywood-inspired dance fitness program), *tons* of equipment, a smoothie bar… and more, all for the whole family! Thrive Oak Harbor

Thrive in Oak Harbor is your one-stop shop for all things fitness. There are several classes you can take, whether you enjoy yoga, dance, weight lifting, cardio workouts, etc. In addition to a wide variety of classes and a huge selection of equipment, there’s also a Smoothie Bar and a kids play area.

Island Athletic Club

Located at 5522 S Freeland Ave, Freeland, WA 98249

Island Athletic Club offers its members a diverse range of activities and workout options, and you can enjoy group classes (with everything from swim to cycling in the mix) and more personalized services as well, such as personal training, physical therapy, massage, etc. 

Since all gyms had to close, Island Athletic Club quickly moved several of their classes online so their members could still stay connected and active together. They’re posting frequent updates to their Facebook page regarding class scheduling, and you can take part in dance, Pilates, yoga classes and more from the comfort of home.
